Cattle Tags: Cattle Tracking App

Cattlesoft, Inc.’s goal is to integrate technology with cattle ranching to improve productivity and efficiency. Their software allows for keeping real-time records for managing cattle, including data related to their health, pasture movements, purchase, and sales. LeewayHertz was contacted to deliver a mobile application that would complement Cattlesoft’s software and benefit their customers.

The mobile application works by connecting via Bluetooth to a RFID reader and then pushing data back to the app, which in turn transmits it to the cloud. Users scan the cattle tags using the RFID reader and immediately get useful data about each animal, such as its weight and last scanned location. The user can then quickly edit and add to this information via the app.
